The state flower of New Jersey is truly a beautiful flower. This flower is the pretty Common Blue Violet. This flower's scientific name is Viola Sororia. This flower is quite an early bloomer in comparioson to other flowers. It blooms in March all the way into May.

You can find the Common Blue Violet flower in Eastern North America. The areas that you can find the Common Blue Violet in is moist to mesic black soil prairies, open woodlands, woodlnd edges, savannahs, nd wooded slopes along rivers or lakes.
